The first step in the Invisalign process is an initial consultation with your dentist. During this appointment, your dentist will examine your teeth and discuss your specific orthodontic needs and goals. They will determine whether Invisalign is the right treatment option for you. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the treatment.
Once it has been decided that Invisalign is the right solution for you, your dentist will create a detailed treatment plan. This involves taking digital impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create your custom aligners. Your dentist will also map out the exact movements your teeth will make during the treatment.
You will need to wear your Invisalign aligners for about 20-22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss. Approximately every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners, which will gradually move your teeth into their correct positions.
Invisalign aligners are made from a special type of plastic that is smooth and flexible, making them more comfortable than traditional braces. There are no metal brackets or wires to irritate your mouth, and the aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth perfectly.
One of the major benefits of Invisalign is its convenience. The aligners are removable, which means you can take them out when you eat, brush, and floss. This makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene during your treatment.
Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, making them a great option for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth without the noticeable appearance of metal braces.
